Nicole Ari Parker has worked in film, TV and also on stage. She was best known for her role as Teri (the fierce attorney) Joseph. Following her wedding, she was Nikki Kodjoe. Contractor who was born in Mumbai and was a resident of Nigeria for seven years was awash with cultural experiences and travels at the age of. She attended boarding school in London from seven to nine, after which her family moved towards Toronto, Canada, where she lived the bulk of her childhood and young adulthood. Contractor studied classical ballet in Toronto. Additionally, she excelled academically. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts, a high school for the arts that was specifically designed to be a school that taught more than just dance but also drama. Contractor was inspired to pursue acting more seriously at the age 16 after almost 10 year of dance. After she had completed high school, she received a full Scholarship to University of Toronto. At the University of Toronto she completed the Master of Arts in Theatre. She was also a double major in Psychology and Sociology. After a single year at University, Contractor went to an open call audition for the production Pericles at the world-class, world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and got the role of lead. In 2002, Canadian critics praised her performance in 92 productions of the play. Contractor was offered the opportunity to enroll in Stratford's conservatory, where a select eight men as well as four women can be accepted for a 20-week crash course on the classical stage that she was eager to take. Contractor's participation in the next season's production was confirmed. She received the role in Hermia from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
